چکیده
The Red Palm Weevil (RPW) is one of the major pests palms, frequently leading to plants death. Action plans and development bio/physical strategies contrast RPW diffusions are strongly recommended due serious concerns related environmental pollution insects’ resistance chemicals. In present study, we investigated morphological alterations ovaries testes in adult exposed 2.45 GHz for 5, 15, 30 s. During these treatments, relative increase temperature days survival after irradiation were monitored. Then, RPWs processed macroscopical microscopical analysis. Histological lesions characterized by degeneration necrosis germinal cells, which increased with time temperature. By same token, an irradiated insects was associated a decrease their time. These observations lead us conclude that MWs could represent useful tool reducing or eliminating reproductive capacity this dreaded insect.

Advances in the use of trapping systems for Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Coleoptera: Curculionidae): traps and attractants.
Given the social importance related to the red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Olivier (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), efforts are being made to develop new control methods, such as the deployment of trapping systems. In this work, the efficacy of a new black pyramidal trap design (Picusan) has been verified in comparison with white and black buckets. In addition, the attractant and synergi...
متن کاملSusceptibility and Immune Defence Mechanisms of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) against Entomopathogenic Fungal Infections
Insects infected with entomopathogenic fungi, experience physiological changes that influence their growth and immune defence. The potential of nine isolates of entomopathogenic fungi was evaluated after determining percent germination and relative conidial hydrophobicity. However, nutritional indices were evaluated after immersing eighth-instar Rhynchophorus ferrugineus larvae into each isolat...
متن کاملDigestive proteases during development of larvae of red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier, 1790) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae).
The evolution of digestive proteases during larval development of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier, 1790) has been studied. A progressive increase of protease activity has been found. The optimum pH for proteolytic activity against azocasein was determined. Caseinograms revealed an active complex of alkaline proteases from the early stages of the development. From the apparent molecular masse...
متن کاملMitochondrial DNA Variation Among Populations of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) From Pakistan
The Red Palm Weevil (RPW) Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier) is a voracious pest of palm species. In recent decades its range has expanded greatly, particularly impacting the date palm industry in the Middle East. This has led to conjecture regarding the origins of invasive RPW populations. For example, in parts of the Middle East, RPW is commonly referred to as the "Pakistani weevil" in the b...
متن کاملIdentification of pigmented Serratia marcescens symbiotically associated with Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Olivier (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)
To characterize red pigment-producing bacteria (RPPB) regularly released during oviposition by red palm weevil (RPW), RPPB were recovered from eggs deposited in apples supplied as substrate for oviposition. The presence of RPPB was also detected from gut, the reproductive apparatus of dissected adult and virgin insects and from pupal cases collected within infested palms. RPPB were also identif...
